Big Things Are Coming…..

When you’re starting a business from nothing and no one knows who you are, sometimes you have to have some faith in yourself and shoot your shot. Prime example of this for me, is a project I was just awarded last week. Back in November of 2021 I was driving through Howell when I saw that a large red oak tree had come down in front of Mcpherson Mansion. It was uprooted during a high wind thunderstorm and was lying in wait for something to happen. I thought “I wonder if anyone has thought of making furniture for the mansion out of a tree that was there before the mansion was even built?”

Long story short I emailed their “info” address and about a month later got a call to meet with the owner. After talking about the project and my ideas I wrote up a proposal to make a conference table, sideboard/buffet as well as a few other small items to finish off one of the conference rooms that is pretty sparse at this time. Never in my wildest dreams when I started this company just a few short months ago I would land a job this big. I am more excited than words can describe and I’ve already started working on the designs.

First step is getting the tree removed from the property and milled into usable lumber. I am working with with Bob Allen at Timbers to Treasures in Gregory, Michigan. You can find him at www.timberstotreasures.com.
